Biography of Md. Sheikh Shadi

Early Life and Education

Md. Sheikh Shadi was born in 1978 in a respected Muslim family at Sheikh Bari, Sadharpur village of Kumarkhali Upazila, Kushtia. His father, Alhaj Alimuddin Sheikh, was a notable nationalist Islamic personality and a social worker, while his mother, Monowara Khatun, was a homemaker. Md. Sheikh Shadi is one of eight siblings, all of whom are well-established in their respective fields. He graduated from Kushtia Government College and earned his Master’s degree from Dhaka College. During his student years, he engaged in teaching and various social development activities. In 1998, he permanently settled in Dhaka.

Professional Career

Md. Sheikh Shadi began his entrepreneurial journey while still completing his education, engaging in government and private sector contracting. In 2004, he received national recognition for installing arsenic-free wells under the Department of Public Health Engineering. Later, he ventured into the real estate business, establishing Assure Group. His company has built hundreds of sustainable, eco-friendly residential buildings in Dhaka, where thousands of families now reside. Today, Assure Group is one of the leading real estate companies in Bangladesh, gaining national and international acclaim for its innovative approach to eco-friendly construction. The group has created employment opportunities for thousands and significantly contributes to national development and the economy.

Contributions to Social Development

Md. Sheikh Shadi is actively involved in social initiatives. He is a member of several prominent organizations, including Kushtia Zilla Samity Dhaka, Uttara Welfare Association, and Lalon Cultural Academy. Through his contributions, the Sheikh Shadi Auditorium was established at Kushtia Zilla Samity Dhaka. Additionally, he has created employment for hundreds of unemployed individuals in Kumarkhali and Khoksa and continues to support numerous charitable initiatives in the region.

Philanthropy in Education

Committed to educational development, Md. Sheikh Shadi has founded the Sadharpur Hafezia Madrasa and Orphanage in his village. He has also constructed a beautiful new mosque building and established a cemetery nearby. Furthermore, he regularly donates to educational institutions in his locality and beyond, funding the construction of school buildings and providing financial aid to underprivileged yet meritorious students in Dhaka and his hometown.

Political Vision and Leadership

Md. Sheikh Shadi is the newly elected Joint Convenor of the Kushtia District BNP. Inspired by the ideology of the late President Ziaur Rahman, he has devoted himself to public service. A staunch supporter of democracy, he respects the sacrifices of Begum Khaleda Zia and envisions building a modern, democratic Bangladesh under the leadership of BNP's Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman. Known for his dedication and dynamic personality, Md. Sheikh Shadi aims to contribute to the betterment of Kushtia-4 and the nation, earning widespread popularity among the youth and educated communities in his constituency.
